MagicSchool AI Pricing Explained

MagicSchool AI keeps its pricing simple: a free plan that is genuinely usable, one paid tier for individual teachers, and custom pricing for schools and districts. Here is what each one gets you, in plain language.

Free — $0, forever

The free plan includes all 80+ teacher tools and the 50+ student tools. Nothing important is locked away. The catch is volume: you get a limited number of AI generations per day. For a teacher who uses it a few times a week — a lesson plan here, report card comments there — the free tier is often enough. This is also the best way to try the platform before spending anything.

Plus — $99.96 per year

Plus costs $99.96 billed once a year (about $8.33 a month), or $12.99 if you pay month to month. It removes the generation limits entirely and adds the power features: unlimited output history, Studio Mode for editing your AI drafts with formatting and images, unlimited quizzes, unlimited student rooms, one-click export to Google and Microsoft apps, and early access to new features.

Who should get it? Teachers who use MagicSchool daily. If you are generating materials every school day, the limits on the free plan will slow you down, and Plus pays for itself in saved evenings.

Enterprise — custom pricing

For schools and districts. Everything in Plus, plus single sign-on, integrations with systems like Canvas, Schoology, Clever, and ClassLink, district-wide dashboards, custom privacy agreements, and a dedicated support contact. Pricing is negotiated per district — if you are an administrator, you will talk to their sales team.

The practical advice

Start free. Use it for two or three weeks and see whether you hit the generation limits. Most teachers know quickly. And if your whole school ends up on it, ask about Enterprise before buying a stack of individual Plus seats — districts usually get a better deal that way.
